Bad Teacher

At least once a month I am exposed yet again to another teacher in the greater Los Angeles area that is being charged with some kind of lewd sex act with students. This is a serious problem that has been going on since I was in school.


When I was in the 4th grade the P.E. teacher was very touchy feely in the sense that he just felt too close. I remember the feeling that took over my body, I felt fear. I felt like I couldn't tell anybody because I thought I was the only one. Come to find out later that he had been more physical with girls that I was friends with in the 6th grade. I don't know what happened to him because soon after we had a new P.E. teacher. Every time I hear about another Bad Teacher I can't help but just stare at their mug shot and hope that they get molested.


Teachers have a lot of power and the line for appropriate conduct needs to be clear. I believe in the right that you are innocent till proven guilty but I also believe that the unions and schools need to step up. School is supposed to be a positive place for learning not an environment that fosters fear.


I bet your you're wondering how I think we should solve this problem. I say if you are convicted of any inappropriate conduct with minors, you should have to serve time and lose your pension. Plain and simple, if a person loses control then they chance losing it all.
