How about that ride into Khao Sok National Park?

Yes, I am quoting Alan from the "Hangover". I found it fitting as it took almost 2 hours to reach the floating bungalows in Khao Sok National Park. But just like the desolate drive into Las Vegas, there is some silent majestic vibe from nature that completely makes you lose sense of time.

The trip lasted two days and two nights. Secluded away from the tourist areas of Thailand, we shared this treasure with only Thai people. It sits in central area of the country. It takes two hours to reach by bus from Surat Thani.
Middle left of the Map sits Khao Sok National Park

The park offers tours of caves within the gigantic lake. We spent a few hours trying to call out to the monkeys in the forest but no  luck. Some have seen wild elephants bathing in the waters.

Beaches are rare on the shores but a good floatie will suit you well as you sit in the water most of the day to stay cool. Since I was the active kayaker of the day I took upon the duty of recycling our Chang bottles.

I enjoyed bathing in the water and jumping of cliffs. I high suggest visiting this place, it was my second favorite area visited.
Quiet. Serene. Solitude.
