Social Media Who??

At first when I thought of this question I immediately said "No" to social media. Nowadays, people have to be more accountable for their actions, constantly under watch and on the record. Social media has become too serious. People are losing their jobs, their lives (cyber-bullying) and their privacy.
"Quality over Quantity" comes to mind when I think of social media. I feel like social media has sparked the concept of "weak ties" where our relationships have become less significant. Social media is robbing us of interpersonal relationships and opportunities. It has taken the mystery out of life and made our world so self-centered.
I love the weeks I go without facebook, I could definitely go without twitter and blogging. NOT SO FAST!!
The ironic part is that I am striving to establish myself in a career that is trying to adapt to the technological world. I have facebook not to stay connected with old friends but to stay relevant in this digital age. I wish my future career as a journalist could survive on the old school ways.
I mean it when I say "I am a people person" I'm not scared to talk to random people face to face. I pride myself on the fact that I am an extroverted individual. I would not use social media if my future livelihood did not depend on it. But not everyone is like me so HELLO TWITTER.
