Machu Picchu: The Importance of the Mountain

Peru is a heightened and enlightened land. The chocolate Urubamba River snakes around the base of the lost city of the Incas. Mossy green mountains hold the sacred space that once flourished from 1450-1540 A.D. Even the blue skies soothe my aching muscles from the stomach virus I have picked up. 

The Way In

Living this high up must have been tough. Isolated in the clouds is something that preserved the Incas from the Spanish as they conquered the villages below. History says the foreign conquistadors never bothered to look up. 

I brought beautiful stones and crystals to recharge off the powerful energy. A resilient aura brings out the silent native wanderer in me as I sit under an arching stone; creating just enough space for an epic meditation.

As I struggled up the Huayna Picchu hike, I absorbed so much life from just letting people pass and listening to their words of encouragement and origin. They all had so much zeal to make it up 1,200 feet. A beautiful thing!

As I was descending I thought about the reasons why the climb is harder than the fall. At the end of a climb there is a view, a cool breeze, a feeling of being a pebble, and an appreciation for progress. You always want to stay there- grateful and proud.

The air is so pure in the mountains. Always remember to surround yourself with pure air. Before this hike, I felt energetically pulled to take a tarot card at a cacao ceremony. I received the Heart Woman: Inner Knowing & Integrity. At that top of the mountain I read what it had said.

"Be not afraid. Release feelings of inadequacy and realize that by the original integrity of your soul, you are a powerful being of manifestation. You are the beloved child of God, perfect & whole, nurtured and loved. Resolve today to connect with your inner knowing & the reality of your divinity."

Then I promised to live by this. So go climb your mountain! There are powerful lessons at the top.
